Hi, my name is Anfisa and I am 18 years old..
My parents are very athletic people, so sports have been an integral part of my life since childhood. At the age of 10, I discovered volleyball, and Dynamo Samara became my first team. Where I spent the next five years.
At first, I just liked volleyball. I made friends, went to training regularly, and gradually began to take him more seriously. After a while, volleyball became an integral part of my life. I felt both disappointment after losing and motivation from the small achievements that helped me stay in the sport and develop.
One of the main factors in my improvement was the discipline taught to me by my first coach from Samara. I’m very grateful for the concepts she instilled in me: respect for others, responsibility, teamwork, and order in everything. She made me understand that success will only come when you work tirelessly and consistently, without sparing yourself.
During my career, I started out playing as a setter, then as a middle blocker, and for the last three years I have been playing consistently as an outside hitter.
What I value most in volleyball is the sense of team unity. It gives me a sense of belonging, of being part of a group of people working towards a common goal. Mistakes are a natural part of the game, but I believe the most important thing is supporting each other and continuing to build the game no matter what.
In 2023, I moved to Cyprus and continued my volleyball journey here. I first played for the Omonoia women’s team, as well as for the U16 and U18 teams for one season. Then I joined Olympiada Neapolis team and played for two years on the U18 team. This coming season, I’m joining the women’s team, and I consider this a new chapter in my volleyball journey.
My goals for the future are to keep developing, compete at a higher level, and improve step by step every day.
